How to connect GLM (Zhipu AI)

  1. Go to open.bigmodel.cn and sign in. The site is mainly in Chinese -- your browser's translate will handle it.

  2. No account? Register with a phone number or email.

  3. Open the user centre, then "API Keys".

  4. Press the button to add a key and copy it. It has two parts joined by a full stop.

  5. Copy the whole thing, including the full stop and both halves.
    about 15 seconds
  6. Paste it into the box below and press "Test connection".

What Julia will ask you for

If something goes wrong

If it says the key is wrong: copy it again and check there is no space at the start or end. A key pasted from an email often picks one up.

If it says the key is malformed: you probably copied only one half. The key is id.secret -- both parts and the dot between them.

If it says billing or quota: add a payment method on the provider's own site. Julia cannot add credit on your behalf.
