How to connect Twilio (SMS and WhatsApp)

  1. Go to twilio.com and create an account.

  2. On the Console home page you will see "Account SID" and "Auth Token". Reveal the token and copy both.

  3. Buy a phone number under Phone Numbers, or use the trial number Twilio gives you.

  4. Paste all three below and press "Test connection". Julia sends you a test message.

Twilio phone number In +country format

If something goes wrong

On a trial account Twilio will only send to numbers you have verified. Add your own number under "Verified Caller IDs" to test.

For WhatsApp, Twilio has a sandbox you can join in minutes; a permanent WhatsApp number needs Meta approval and takes longer.
