How to connect Perplexity

  1. Go to perplexity.ai and sign in.
    about 30 seconds
  2. Open Settings, then the "API" tab.
    about 20 seconds
  3. Add a payment method if asked, then press "Generate API key".
    about 2 min
  4. Copy the key.
    about 10 seconds
  5. Paste it into the box below and press "Test connection".
    about 20 seconds

If something goes wrong

If it says the key is wrong: copy it again and check there is no space at the start or end. A key pasted from an email often picks one up.

If it says billing or quota: add a payment method on the provider's own site. Julia cannot add credit on your behalf.
