How to connect Brevo (email)

  1. Go to brevo.com and choose "Sign up free". The free plan sends 300 emails a day, which is plenty to begin with.

  2. Confirm your email address and phone number when asked.

  3. Top right, click your account name, then "SMTP & API".
    about 20 seconds
  4. On the "API Keys" tab press "Generate a new API key" and name it.
    about 30 seconds
  5. Copy the key -- it is shown once.
    about 10 seconds
  6. Paste it below with the sender address and name, then press "Test connection". You will get a test email.

What Julia will ask you for

If something goes wrong

The key is shown ONCE. If you closed the page without copying it, delete that key and make a new one -- you cannot look the old one up.

Brevo asks you to confirm the sender address before it will send. Check that inbox for a verification email and click the link.

Sending from a gmail.com or hotmail.com address makes your messages far more likely to land in spam. Use an address at your own domain if you have one.
